Interview Tips
- Plan Ahead: do a little homework by researching the company you are being interviewed by. This indicates a genuine interest and gives you opportunities to branch out in the interview in informed ways.
- Role Play: you can help yourself overcome interview nervousness by roleplaying a typical interview with a friend or family member. Try not to focus on developing an answer to every possible question, but more on becoming comfortable with the process.
- Eye Contact: maintain eye contact with your interviewer. Indicate your interest through your eyes.
- Be Positive: in particular, try not to be negative about previous employers.
- Relate: relate your answers to the interviewer and his or her company. Make your responses relevant to the questions you are being asked by personalising them to the business or industry to which you are applying.
